Verizon Voice Wing Broadband Phone

Verizon Voice Wing broadband phone is for residential VoIP service users it sells as both an add-on for its existing DSL users and a separate service for non-Verizon broadband users.

The pricing depends on whether you do or do not have Verizon DSL. The only plan that is available has unlimited minutes and is also one of the most expensive VoIP services available.

Some of the popular VoIP companies that compete with Verizon VoiceWing include BroadVoice, Lingo, and Packet8.

It has often described that VoiceWing has good rates on long-distance rates to countries in Western Europe and Asia, but the unlimited-minutes plan covers only calls within the United States.

In addition, VoiceWing hasn't fared well on voice-quality tests.

In the case you sign up for VoiceWing, Verizon will ship you a telephone adapter, which allows you to use your regular telephone with Verizon's VoIP service.

This also means that you can purchase any standard telephone as your second phone, if you need it for the VoIP telephony.

However, you will need a router as well, which will sit between the broadband modem and adapter.

First, you plug the adapter into the Ethernet port on the router, then plug your phone into the adapter.

Once you reset your modem, and let the adapter configure itself, turning on your phone after, you should hear a dial tone.
