The Verizon caller ringtone service, launched in October 2004, is run in co-operation with Ztango, a European company with long tradition in the ringtone business. With the ringback service, you can select a unique ringing tone (instead of that annoying "ring ring") that callers will hear before you pick up the phone. What's also great about caller tunes from Verizon, is that they have a feature called Time Of Day functionality, which can be used to specify a unique Ringback Tone to be played during a specific time period. This way, if you need the official buzzer ringing tone during business hours, you can choose to have the traditional ringer for those hours, then let your personality show with a unique ringtone after business hours. How Can YOU get Verizon Ringback Tones? To get the Verizon ringbacks, you need to be an existing customer of the company, plus you need to subscribe to the ringback service. Also, the service is currently offered only in selected areas of California, with nationwide expansion of service to follow later this year. Ringbacks from Verizon have an $1.99 annual fee per ringback tone with a $0.99 monthly subscription. To purchase a ringback tones, you can do so through the Internet, or with a text message. With Verizon, you can assign a unique ringback tone for up to 20 caller IDs. Therefore, you can purchase only up to 20 Ringback Tones per account. To purchase more than 20, you must delete an existing Ringback Tone.
