Verizon Mobile Broadband

Verizon mobile broadband is a called "BroadbandAccess" and uses Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO) network that has been enhanced with EV-DO Rev.

The fast, high speed mobile internet connection is great for residential users, but especially business users.

With the mobile broadband, you can leave the office without leaving your broadband connection.

If you carry your notebook within the coverage area, you can access email, download files, and browse the Internet at broadband speed anywhere.

Currently, Verizon has a growing high-speed wireless network that covers more then 240 million people in 248 major metropolitan areas and 232 primary airports in the United States. This means you don't have to chase Wifi hotspots any more to find quality internet connection.

BroadbandAccess uses Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO) network with an EV-DO Rev upgrade. This translates into

  • downloads with typical speeds of around 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps
  • uploads with typical speeds of 500-800 Kbps

If you travel outside of the BroadbandAccess coverage area, you can still get online with the NationalAccess network.

The NationalAccess provides connect speeds at up to 144 Kbps, with typical speeds of 60 to 80 Kbps.

To see the BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess coverage areas, you can see them from the BroadbandAccess Coverage
