Time Warner High Speed Internet

Time Warner high speed internet service is called Road Runner.

In most places where the Road Runner service is available, your other choices typically include DSL or dial-up.

The service speeds over cable have been often praised for their high speeds, often more than the ones you'd get from DSL providers.

This is especially so if you are located in the areas that have Time Warner Cable's Advanced Fiber Network.

In addition to providing fast data transfer speeds, the Road Runner service has several levels of service (as of June 2008): Turbo, Standard, Basic, and Lite.

At the fastest level, the company estimates that the speeds are up to 3 times the speed of most standard DSL packages and up to 100x faster than dial-up.

If you're migrating from the dial-up world, this service is always on, unlike the dial up connection, where you need to dial to make the connection and disconnect at the end of your internet usage.

As of June, 2008, the service also comes with a free Internet Security Suite Software with Anti-Virus protection, Anti-spam, Firewall protection, product upgrades and updates, and web support. Also, Internet Parental Controls to help you monitor your child's access to what they do while browsing the web.

You also get a Road Runner home page that you can personalize with videos, news, CD-quality music, games, and up to 500 MB of storage space.
