TDK DVD Drives

TDK DVD drives are part of the wide range of audio and visual products from the company. The company makes, in addition to DVD drives, also (for example) speakers, portable CD-MP3 players, CD burners, recordable media, and related accessories.

The DVD drives are offered under the TDK's Indi brand. TDK supports both the DVD-R/-RW and DVD+R/+RW formats in the drives, and the MultiFormat Indi drives support both of these in one device.

TDK has also made investments in putting together good software packages with the drives. These software packages include such applications as Roxio's Easy CD and DVD Creator, which features easy editing, burning, and playing of DVD discs.

TDK is also a leading player in the race for next generation DVD technology. The technology, Blu-Ray, will offer TDK drives with a capacity in one disc up to 23GBs.

TDK DVD Drives - Resources

If you're unsure of what burner formats you should be thinking about, information about the major formats are available from industry support groupings web sites. These web sites include:

* ramprg.com (for DVD-RAM)* dvdforum.org (for DVD-R/-RW)* dvdrw.com (for DVD+R/+RW)

The actual drives under the Indi brand include the following models:

* Internal Indi DVD 8x MultiFormat* Internal Indi DVD 4x MultiFormat* Internal Indi DVD 4x DVD+R/+RW* Internal Indi DVD 2x DVD+R/+RW* External Indi DVD 8x MultiFormat* External Indi DVD 4x MultiFormat

You can find these drives from many stores and compare prices at comparison engines. Also, the popularity of refurbished DVD drives is increasing. Refurbished drives are used devices that have been tested and remanufactured to meet quality requirements for resale.

And because of this testing and remanufacturing process, the refurbished devices usually offer good warranties.
