Rio Rancho City-Wide Wi-Fi Network Complete According to the Wireless services firm Azulstar Networks, the 40-square-mile contiguous Wi-Fi network for the city of Rio Rancho, NM, is now complete.This is a milestone in terms of metro Wi-Fi networks, as Rio Rancho network is one of the world’s largest ones, featuring more than 400 Wi-Fi and pre-WiMAX radios that allow the community’s 70,000 users high-speed Internet access. Already, the city’s public school system has launched a Cyber Learning Academy using the network, and the New Mexico Department of Transportation is doing traffic monitoring and control system work over the new metro Wi-Fi network. In related news, Azulstar Networks also announced the completion of Wi-Fi networks in the cities of Ferrysburg and Spring Lake, Michigan, completing the tri-city Wi-Fi network with Grand Haven, Michigan. Azulstar also announced Hot City in a Box product, which is an all-in-one metro Wi-Fi solution for cities.
