Qwest Broadband

The Qwest broadband service has become rapidly more successful, and not only because of the co-operation done with MSN on DSL services.

Qwest operates in 14 states, and offers the Qwest DSL with MSN Premium service in many of them.

Qwest high speed Internet service is growing rapidly, with some one million customers having signed up for the service so far.

The DSL service is up to 25 times faster than traditional dial-up (at 1.5Mbps downstream speeds), but still somewhat slower than what you find with cable companies' fast Internet offers.

Available Qwest Broadband Packages

The offers for residential customers are:

• Qwest Choice DSL Deluxe with MSN Premium
• Up to 1.5 Mbps downstream / Up to 896 Kbps upstream
• Price: $39.99 a month (with a Qwest home phone package)(ISP:MSN)
• Qwest Choice DSL with MSN Premium
• Up to 256 Kbps downstream /Up to 256 Kbps upstream
• Price: $26.99 a month (with a Qwest home phone package)(ISP:MSN)

You can also choose not to take up MSN as your ISP and not to take up MSN Premium.

The packages are otherwise similar in that case, but now, you choose your own ISP and the prices are different (lower monthly fees, but ISP is not included).
