Pentax Digital Cameras

Pentax digital cameras have an innovative slogan as "The Official Digital Camera of the Internet", which reflects the company's understanding of how Internet and digital photography change the way we all live.

The Pentax company is a subsidiary of Asahi Optical Company, originally established in 1919.

The company became a pioneer in the SLR camera industry early on with the introduction of the company's first SLR camera, the Asahiflex I, in 1952.

The company competes very much in the minituarization of digital cameras, with such local (Japanese) competitors as Casio and Minolta.

As part of that competition, Pentax has lately developed what it says is the world's smallest and lightest digital SLR camera.
