Panasonic DMR E20 DVD Recorder
The Panasonic DMR e20 DVD recorder is a good, basic DVD recorder for replacing that old VCR. There are some downsides to this recorder, like the unability to playback with progressive scan.
The DMR e20 is also a bit older model, with some of the newer generation including such recorders as the E80 and E100 models that sport a hard disk (unlike the e20 model). Because Panasonic is a supporter/developer of the DVD-RAM technology, the machine has that format. But because DVD-RAM has one of the poorest backward compatibilities with existing player base, DVD-R capability has been added to allow for better sharing of recordings (as DVD-R has the best compatibility with existing players). Panasonic DMR E20 DVD Recorder Features The DMR e20 has been designed to provide an easy transformation from VCRs to DVD recording. As an example of this, the recorder has VCR Plus built-in and the feature is free (in comparison to TiVo service, for example). The features this model has includes four different recording speeds, from XP (approximately an hours worth of recording) speed to EP (approximately six hours of recording). The Panasonic's are known for easy editing options, and this model is no exception. It also works great with your camcorder for recording those home movies onto a DVD-RAM or DVD-R disc. And because time has passed and new recorders have been introduced since the introduction of the E20, you may find this model for a great bargain.
