Ionizer Air Purifiers

Ionizer air purifiers are electronic purifiers that generate negative ions.

There is a variety of negative ion generator-type air cleaners available.

One of the available types uses static charges to remove particles from indoor air. These purifiers charge the particles in the room air, which then become attracted to walls, floors, curtains, etc.

More advanced ionizer units generate negative ions in the space through which air flows, causing particles entrained in the air to become charged.

Then, the charged particles are drawn back into the cleaner by a fan, where they are collected on an electrostatically charged panel filter.

Finally, other ionizers work by generating a stream of negative ions and the negatively charged particles are drawn back to the ionizer by a positively charged counterpart.

Available Ionizer Air Purifiers

There are several manufacturers that produce purifiers with ionizer technology. Most actually incorporate several technologies into one purifier unit.

Manufacturers with ionizer air cleaners include:

Surround Air
Holmes
Hunter
DeLonghi
Amcor
Greenway
Sunpentown

In looking for the best deals on different types of ionizers, you may find the different comparison shopping engines useful.

For example, the last time I checked, I found a whopping 72 different ionizers at BizRate from 12 different manufacturers and 70 different ionizers at shopping.com.
