Internet Dating with Photos

Nearly all matchmakers online provide Internet dating with photos. Here are some of the best ones in terms of how you can view the pictures.

One of the best viewing options are available from Yahoo! Personals. Their viewing options include three modes:

Basic View
Photo Gallery View
Slideshow View

Basic view is what you'd expect typically on a online dating service. The photos are aligned to the left of the short description of the person that has matched your search.

The photo gallery view is a good tool for those that rely much on the visuals when choosing possible dating partners online.

With photo gallery view, you see the matches pictures side by side, with no text besides location, when they were active on their account the last time, and their age.

Finally, the slideshow view gives each matching candidate an equal time on your browser window on a slideshow.

In the slideshow view, you also see the other possible pictures of the persons as smaller thumbnails. If you see something interesting, you can pause the slideshow mode.

Internet Dating with Pictures

Of the other bigger online dating sites, match.com also has two viewing options. You can look at the profiles on a basic mode, as with Yahoo!, and also in a picture gallery mode (photo gallery view in Yahoo!).

All these bigger services have tens of thousands of profiles with photos. For example, DatingDirect.com claims over 1.5 million profiles with photos.

In addition to picture profiles, there are also profiles with video. As many still use dial-up services, these video profile services are less common than standard pictures (which are quicker to download).
