Free Motorola MP3 Ringtones

The selection of free Motorola MP3 ringtones includes MP3 ringers meant for other cell phones, such as LGs and Nokias. The availability of free MP3 ringing tones is greater than that for monotonic ringers, as the MP3 standard is so widely supported, and making MP3 ringing tune content is easy.

You may also think about converting the huge databases of MIDI content out there to MP3 format. However, many of the phones that support MP3 also support MIDI format.

One MP3 ringtone site, ToneThis.com, lists supported Motorola MP3 phones as: Motorola A845, Motorola C350, Motorola C370, Motorola C380, Motorola C550, Motorola C650, Motorola E398, Motorola MPx200, Motorola V180, Motorola V220, Motorola V3, Motorola V300, Motorola V400, Motorola V500, Motorola V505, Motorola V525, Motorola V600, Motorola V710, and Motorola V80.

Of the Motorola cell phones, the C650, V3, V180, and V505 also have MotoMixer software for your own remixed Motorola ringing tones. However, the software and remixes are for MIDI ringers.

In addition, MPx200 and MPx220 support Motorola WAV ringtones.

Free Motorola MP3 Ringtones - Making Your Own MP3 Ringers

Making your own MP3 ringers is a lot easier than it used to be with monotonic, one chord "beeb" ringers.

You simply need to use audio editors to cut suitable clips, of about 30 seconds max, from your favorite MP3 songs as ringing tones.

The length depends not only on what your cell phone can handle memory-wise, but also on the fact that the call will usually be transferred to voicemail after 30-40 seconds of unanswered ringing.

These MP3 ringers may need to be edited, in order for you to be able to use them. Typically, you can cut the size of the file by changing the bit rate to e.g. 64Kbps.

Also, changing the song into mono might help it being able to play on your cell phone.

There are several tools to make the conversions and editing. For one, there is Audacity, a free download.

Another one is called Ringtone Ripper and reportedly works by making you to be able to cut the size of the full MP3 to the smaller ringtone size and lowering the bit rate.

Free Motorola MP3 Ringtones - Free MP3 Resources

Many companies have free MP3 ringing tone content available for downloads.

For one, Walmart Music Store has thousands of MP3 files available. These are actually MP3 previews of the CD tracks, but also make great MP3 ringers (don't go to the music downloads section for the previews, however).

To download the free Walmart Motorola MP3 ringing tones, simply use right click and "save as" to copy the ringer to your desktop.

Edit as necessary and transfer the file to your Motorola phone with either Bluetooth, cables, or infrared, and phone manager software, such as Motorola Mobile Phone Tools from BVRP Software.

Other resources for free ringers in MP3 format include nextpimp.com, which is meant primarily for Nextel customers, and mobileplayground.co.uk, which allows you to save the MP3 ringers to your desktop.
