Filterless Air Purifiers

Filterless air purifiers commonly use ionic air purification and/or ultraviolet enhanced pollutant reduction methods in the air.

Some of the benefits for using a filterless air purification method include the fact that there are less parts to replace (no filters), and the running costs may be much lower as well (as filters may cost a lot, depending on the model in question).

Because the filterless technologies use technologies such as ionic air purification, the cons of using such systems relate to those technologies.

For example, the use of ionic air purification uses the principle of electrostatic attraction to draw contaminants to surface areas rather than let these particles be breathed. The attachment of the particles to surface areas may make the room dirty, which can be a nuisance.

Available Filterless Air Purifiers

When looking for alternative purifiers to models with filters, look for the ones with ionic air purification or similar alternative technology.

Ionic air purifier brands and manufacturers include, for example:

Multi-Tech
SABA
Wein
Surround Air
IonizAir
Iqia
Air-O-Swiss
Hoover

When choosing a purifier without filters, you should look for models for your particular needs. For example, there are ionic purifiers made for use with desktop computers, for cars, and so on. Some of the portable models are usable in many imaginable places in the house and in the office.
