Digital Camera Printers

Almost all digital camera printers, or photo printers, reproduce same quality printed photos that you've come to expect from traditional film cameras.

The biggest differences for the majority of photo pringers are thus for the speed of printing and additional features, not the final quality of the printed photo.

Of course, there are differences in print quality, ranging from acceptable printers for casual photography, to high-end models for professional level digital photography printing.

Available Digital Camera Printers

The available digital camera photo printers are manufactured in three categories:

* Ink jet photo printers* Dedicated photo printers* Professional photo printers

The ink jet photo printers offer at least one photo feature but can also function as all-purpose printers.

Dedicated photo printers are typically limited to printing on special purpose papers, for photo quality finishes.

Finally, professional photo printers may also be dedicated photo printers, but the main feature is that these printers offer at least 11 by 17 inches output (tabloid-size).

Choosing Digital Camera PrintersWhen choosing your photo printer, you should figure out your requirements first.

If you need long-lasting photos, your options include thermal-dye printers that lay down a clear overcoating to protect the photos. You can find waterproof prints from some ink jet printers also.

Another important thing to consider is the image size. Professional photo printers can comfortably print out high quality, larger prints. If you need smaller photos for your wallet, look for options for smaller print-out sizes.

The paper used in the printer is another thing to consider. Depending on your needs, you may get by with the cheaper paper types from the several types offered by vendors, if your printer supports using these paper types.
