Delco CD players are produced by Delphi Electronics, a company that has original roots closely integrated with General Motors.
However, Delphi was incorporated only in 1998 and became independent from General Motors on May 28, 1999. The company operates in two distinct divisions, of which Electrical, Electronics, Safety & Interior Sector makes a wide variety of audio and communications systems for the vehicle. These systems include mobile multi-media, enhancing communication, information, and entertainment access in vehicle cockpits. This division includes the Delco unit. In fact, Delphi is an advanced player in the mobile audio/video business, helping develop such solutions as car satellite radio (with SIRIUS) and creating the first in-dash car radio decades ago.
