Cricket Ringtones

Cricket ringtones service offers monotonic, polyphonic, and real music ringtones to Audiovox, Kyocera, Motorola, and Nokia phones.

Most of the Cricket cell phones support ringtones, but you should still check your handset before attempting to download ringers. Furthermore, you must have a Cricket cell phone plan.

The company lists the compatible ringtone phones as: Audiovox 8900, Kyocera Energi, Kyocera Phantom, Kyocera Rave, Kyocera Slider, Motorola c343, Motorola c341, Motorola e310, Motorola T720 (with s/w version 1.2.22.44.5P), Nokia 3570, Nokia 5170i (with s/w version 582 or higher), Nokia 5185i (with s/w version 582 or higher), Nokia 6370, and Nokia 8270.

If you're unsure how your phone can download ringers, Cricket has published instructions on how to download them. The instructions are located at

Cricket Ringtones Service

The Cricket ringer service is run by a company called Ztango, with roots in the Northern European ringtone markets.

In order to get ringtones, you must first register to the Cricket ringer web site.

At the time of doing this, you must be in Cricket service area as you'll receive a password to your phone that you will need to complete the registration.

If you are already registered on the Cricket site, then you can buy a ringtone even if you do not have your phone with you (but you must turn on your phone within the next 7 days on the service area to receive the ringer).

The ways to purchase the ringers are by adding funds to your Cricket Prepaid Account or by using PayPal at the time of purchase.

However, Cricket is the only one using PayPal approach to ringtones billing. And if you don’t have a PayPal account, this process may feel a bit heavy.

To find Cricket ringtones, see, for example, mycricket.com.

Price and Categories of Cricket RingtonesRingtones start at $0.99 per download. Polyphonic Cricket ringers cost $1.99 per download. You can also download Music Tones (advanced HiFi ringers) if your cell phone supports them.

The payment for the download is charged from your Cricket Prepaid Account or PayPal account at the time of your purchase. Therefore, the charge will not appear on your Cricket service bill.

The company says that they have ringtones in the hundreds. However, the top 10 Alltel ringtones chart I saw suggests that you won’t find the latest hit ringers in the service.

However, as the company behind the service, Ztango, has good connections to ringtone manufacturers, the service is sure to improve with time.
