Combined Sprint Wi-Fi PCS Service Planned

There are plans to develop a Sprint Wi-Fi PCS combination service, in which customers will be able to roam between the Sprint PCS cell phone network and a Wi-Fi network, where that is available.

This would allow customers to use Wi-Fi VoIP where there is a Wi-Fi network available, and then move to the PCS network when they're out of the Wi-Fi hotspot's reach.

In order to be able to use this type of network combination, your Sprint cell phone needs to support Wi-Fi connectivity (and VoIP (Voice over IP)), a market which is still very much in the development phase, but will reach more customers this year.
