Coldplay Ringtones from Cingular

Coldplay has released their latest single, titled "Speed of Sound", first as a ringtone through Cingular, a week before the official deput on radio. Bands all over the world are slowly starting to realize how great way to create good buzz for their upcoming releases is to pre-release them as ringing tones.

Also, the ringers will generate extra revenue for the bands.

The pre-release from Coldplay comes nearly two month before the band releases their upcoming album on June 7th (from Capitol Records).

The partnership allows each of the nearly 50 million Cingular customers to get the 30-second preview ringer to their cell phones.

The new ringer is part of a Cingular service called Cingular Sounds, which gives subscribers the first look at songs before they are released elsewhere.
