Charter Cable High Speed Internet

Charter cable high speed internet comes in four flavors (as of May 2008): with the fastest packages having download speeds of up to 5Mbps and up to 10Mbps (Plus version).

To use the cable broadband connection, you will need a cable broadband modem. This is supplied by the company to those that purchase either of the available packages.

Their connection speeds available to customers as of May 2008 are: 384 Kbps, 3 Mbps, 5 Mbps, and the fast 10 Mbps package.

If you don't know which package to purchase, it is usually best that you start with a conservative estimate and upgrade to a faster and more expensive package if you don't get as much out of the slower package as you want.

Upgrading between these speeds is usually fast and easy with contacting the customer service.

Available with all the packages is a Charter High-Speed Internet personal Web space, with which you can create your own Web site, blog, or use it for online storage.

For packages 3Mbps and up, there is also a free security suite, but even for the slower package you can get free security packages from the internet, such as Zone Alarm for firewall and AVG free edition for virus control.
