Cable High Speed Internet Provider


Cable high speed internet provider companies include Comcast, Cox, Cable One, Charter, Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse, and WOW!.

In addition to those companies, major cable broadband companies include Cablevision, Time Warner Cable, Mediacom, and Midcontinent Communications.

In terms of subscribers, the Jupiter Research estimates them to be following for Q4 2007:

1. Comcast (cable broadband) 13.2 million subscribers
2. Road Runner (cable broadband) 7.9 million
3. Cox (cable broadband) 3.7 million
4. Charter (cable broadband) 2.7 million
5. Cablevision (cable broadband) 2.3 million
6. Mediacom (cable broadband, dialup, and SMB broadband) 0.66
7. Covad (broadband only) 0.49
8. GCI (cable broadband) 0.088

Also, Verizon now had 1.3 million FiOS customers, which is broadband technology based on fiber optic cables.

In the UK, the largest cable broadband provider is Virgin Media and they have coverage of 50% of UK homes and 85% of UK businesses that they are able to supply cable to.
