Broadband Verizon Yahoo


Broadband Verizon Yahoo is a service that combines DSL , Internet access and applications from Verizon Internet Services and Yahoo applications.

The service has dedicated pages at

verizon.net/micro/getyahoo/

According to that site, the extras that the Yahoo/Verizon bundle has, are worth some $200 or more if bought separately, but the price is only a few dollars over the traditional Verizon DSL.

In its core, the upgrade to Yahoo Verizon offers new services in three categories:

  • Online protection: anti-virus, anti-spy, SpamGuard, pop up blocker, and parental controls.
  • Mailing and sharing: mail plus, sharing, messenger apps.
  • Entertainment: LAUNCHcast plus, LAUNCH video, Yahoo Games.

    The service was introduced in 28 states and the District of Columbia in 2005.

    The combined service also include My Internet which translates into the ability to better tailor the Internet, including:

  • Exclusive, on-demand news and entertainment video content
  • More than 500,000 content sources to personalize the broadband-optimized home page
  • Premium browser and Web Sidebar
